Maternal and Infant Health Screening
Y-chromosome maternal serum test (4 weeks)
Y-chromosome maternal serum test is a non-invasive prenatal DNA test (compared with the traditional invasive technology of amniocentesis) which is used to assess the risk for sex-linked disease in fetus and to determine the possibility of paternity or non-paternity with the alleged father.
During pregnancy, a small amount of fetal DNA can circulate in the maternal blood stream through the placenta. Therefore, traces of fetal DNA can be detected and isolated to reveal the conditions of fetal sex chromosomes.

Folate Metabolism Gene Test
The Folate Metabolism Gene Test evaluates one’s genetic ability to metabolize folate by examining two common MTHFR mutation sites in Asians through Polymerase Chain Reaction technology (PCR) and provides personalized recommendations on folate intake accordingly. For foetuses, folate is crucial for the development of the neural tube and brain, therefore significantly affecting early cognitive development. For would-be mothers, the deficiency in folate during pregnancy could lead to gestational complications and elevate the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. For men, inadequate folate affects sperm count, motility, and functionality, raising the likelihood of male infertility.
